We are a family-owned woodworking business with over 5 years of experience in crafting high-quality home decor. Our passion for Fractal Wood burning began as a hobby and turned into a business. We began with Western Red Cedar Molding and then discovered Alaskan Yellow Cedar which we carry both Molding and Casing for doors and widows.
Now we have grown again to now offering feature walls. This is where we and you get to have FUN. Using tongue and groove lumber we create a wall overlay of almost any size that is very easy to install. This installation is very easy even for someone who has not done much wood working before.
Laying it out on the ground to look at the designs that you can see when the different pieces are laid out together. Tongue and groove wood is quite easy to work with because it holds together and chunks can be moved around so different designs can be explored.
Sometimes you have to adjust the bottom layer so it is level. Starting can be challenging with the varying types of base bords there is. It is best to keep it level at the very bottom. It is nice to get up a few layers so you can get off your hands and knees.
When applying the nails be sure you check level at every layer.
Getting close to finish. Just be sure the boards are cut correctly.
This is not finished. There will be some small molding on each edge if the home owner decides to install it. They were trying to decide which color they wanted.
This Western Red Cedar is tongue and groove 1x8 used in home building in 1940 when this house was built. The paneling was what was showing when the wall was taken down to do some remodeling.
Because this is 1x8 and beetle eaten, I decided to burn a single line in the middle or around the middle to give it enough burn and still leave enough space for the beetle eaten areas to be enjoyed
We approaching plugins and light switches you need to power off the circuits and be sure you leave enough room for the boxes to fit in.
Some times around the switch boxes the piece pops out and you have to make adjustments.
When finishing the top layer sometimes it is possible to slip the board up into the gap left when removing the old boards. It makes the finish look a lot better. As you can see here we have not quite finished with the remolding.
